Ms. Marrama’s French Class Rules and Expectations

Rules:
*No talking while I am teaching.
Expectations:
In a foreign language class, good attendance is important! This is a French class; therefore you will be required to speak French as much as possible.
*Remember you will never learn to speak French if you keep relying on English.
Give your best effort and you will be surprised how much you learn!
Homework unless specifically stated will not be graded but will be checked daily. A checkmark will be given for each assignment completed. 100 euros will be awarded for a perfect homework grade at the end of each quarter.
Make-up Work and Late Work:
In the event of an expected absence, including activities such as band or sports, please take tests and quizzes before you are absent. In the case of unexpected absences, you will have the number of days missed plus one to complete missing work. You must sign up to take quizzes or tests before or after school. This “sign-up to make-up” sheet can also be found on the table in the front of the class. Failure to sign up within one week of returning to school or failure to show up when scheduled will result in a 0 for the test or quiz grade. Late work (quizzes, tests and projects) will be accepted; however students will only be able to make a maximum of 85% on late assignments and 5pts will be deducted for each additional day it is late. Late work will not be accepted more than one week after it is due. The lowest daily grade per six weeks will be dropped.
**Extra Credit may be earned in the form of a completely stamped passeport as well as extra credit Euros, which may then be spent in class. These Euros are not to be traded between students. The passeport, will be stamped for every 85+ earned on a quiz or test. It may be turned in for on regular daily assignment or for 5 extra credit points on a quiz or test. Each student is responsible for his/her own Euros.
Earning Euros:
**200 euros count as one point towards your final grade. You may turn in up to 12 euros for a total of three additional points on your overall grade. Lost euros will not be replaced.
